Reaching Gen Z: Engaging Young Audiences in Public Health
ASTHO hosted a virtual conversation on effective communication strategies for rebuilding trust in public health and engaging Gen Z as public health advocates. This webinar detailed the importance of public health messaging, social media, outreach and engagement and data; provide tips and advice for creating new or updating existing crisis communications plans; and share information on tools and resources to assist public health leaders and health communicators in combating misinformation and disinformation.

The webinar was highlighted in two editions of the Public Health Weekly. In addition, a speaker from the webinar joined ASTHO's newscast as a guest and the webinar was mentioned in the show notes with a link to registration.
Social Media
Social media outreach was needed to gain traction for registration. One LinkedIn post and one Facebook post went live two weeks before the webinar. Several tweets went out in the following days leading up to the webinar with appropriate tagging.
Targeted Mailer
One targeted mailer was created to highlight the webinar details and featured a speaker section. The webinar recieved

The original registration goal for the Crisis Communications team was 150. By the day of the webinar, there were over 650 registrations with 450 attendees.
